hdvd death wouldnt affect the xbox 360 at all, its just an addon.360 is leading the like lounge tv thing market in terms of the xbox live market place downloadable movies things.

so either your a ps3 fanboy, or you are a jealous pc user who spent thousands on a new pc to find out theres only about 3 games that have been released in the last 2 years.

With my PC specs I don't need to own a XhitBox,plus a mouse+keyboard owns !!! :) try to catch me with your controler :)

I can guarantee that I would annihilate you on cod4 with a controller if you had KB and Mouse and as stat said you spent probably 3-4x the amount of a 360 for your "PC Specs"

the sad part about this is that i will most likely buy a ps3 just to use as a blu-ray player but not to play games

of course it will affect the 360! its main competition is an out of the box blu-ray player! for somebody looking to buy a next gen console KNOWING blu-ray will win the format war, that is a HUGE advantage to ps3 sales, especially until the price of stand-alone blu-ray players come down

If in fact microsoft makes a blu-ray console (or an add on) for their 360, I'd imagine it will not be cheap, making the prices between the ps3 and xbox more similar. I guess I dont know the main reasons xbox has been dominating, but I'd guess its mostly price and games available.

who knows, but as a consumer who will probably be purchasing one of them in the next year and knowing blu-ray will be the standard, I think there are alot of reasons to go with sony now.

what are the reasons to go with Sony? The primary advantage that Sony had was the bluray. Now they won't have that. I see their sales falling even lower in the near future unless something new develops.

i dont believe microsoft would go in ways of a blu ray player, too much competition with sony to be using their product.

i do believe that microsft have always pushed digital downloads as the next generation rather than hddvd or bluray, thats why they never put the hd dvd drive in the xbox and they have probably made more money via xbox live than sony has made via blue ray.


and if people want to play games the best option is the 360, more games, more exclusives, less shitty ports, cheaper and plays better online. blueray and hddvd were never going to catch on like dvd anyway, plus the 360 has that special chip which up converts dvds to look decent on my hd tv, thats all i need to hear. plus i dont give a shit about what console sells more, thats like comparing it to britney spears selling more albums than metallica. its all about the dreamcast anyway.
