Thon '08

It's time for my annual post of PennState's Dance Marathon (THON). It's the largest student run philanthropy in the world that raises money for children with cancer. It's where a little over 700 dancers stand on their feet for 46 straight hours as they raise money. Last year, we raised over $5 million. I'm just asking if anyone could donate any amount to the organization. It's a good cause and you know your money will be sent to the right places; unlike some of those feed the children fundings that go to corrupt leaders.

You can donate and learn more about it at www.thon.org

Here's a webcam feed of all the action: http://nurbs.cse.psu.edu/webcast/ (for some reason the quicktime plugin didn't work for me so I just chose the WindowsMedia impeded window)

that's really awesome Coleman, 5mil is really impressive. I would donate if I could but I don't have any money right now, sorry.

and Blitz, do you realize you just prove people's point about the spam left and right or do you just not care?

just came back from being on the floor for 8 hours. It wasn't too bad considering I've worked 14 hour shifts before without sitting but it's a great experience. Playing with the cancer children is really fun and rewarding. Just for 2 days, they get to have a lot of fun and forget about their troubles.

and yeah c312, I know exactly what you mean. I felt like a dick donating $10 but that's all I could really afford to give up at the moment.
