Dreaded ring of death
I've had the dreaded Xbox 360 ring of death on my console a couple of times now. It has only happened after the 360 has crashed midgame! Screen making a loud cracking noise and the screen going crackly. I then open the tray to remove the disk and I get the ring of death (all 4 lights flashing red). I shutdown the 360 and reboot, all seems fine.
Its an intermittent problem, as I dont play on my 360 all day every day, iIve not managed to get a paturn on how often this occurs. I've just read about moving the powersupply somewhere more ventalted. any other ideas before I waste my phone bill ringing M$? |
reseat your AV cables
4 rings is not the ring of death its just an error code http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906652 |

thats a sigh of relief (I guess)- took it to my mates yesterday, and it did it again - he described it as the ring of death. I've tried a completely new cable (as my mates is currently with Microsoft being repaired) which is why I took it to his house last night. |

sucks! when did you buy the console? i just recently bought mine from target and nothing yet...hopefully it doesn't happen
|
it has a 3 year warranty so you are covered for longer than owning any other consoles.
mine happened over the xmas period - but didnt bother me too much as as they replaced it within 2 weeks and all is good. anyone here got rainbow six vegas 2? so glitchyyyyyyyyy |
iw as thinking of getting vegas 2 but i thought otherwise

Yeah but with that warrenty it extends ONLY to the 3 rings of death error, any other error and you have to pay for it. December there a friend of mine had to get his replaced, the error was 1 red light and it was something on the motherboard dieing (ethernet port i think). Since he had it over a year he had to fork out £60 for it. |
