I posted a message yesterday because I was having a glitch in multiplayer. After about 10 minutes, my player would move all around the screen by himself and I couldn't get any control. I found that when this happens, I'm at 999 Ping. . . what's that all about. I normall run at somewhere between 50 and 120. It seems when this shoots up like that, the player flips out. Can anyone help with this? Why would it shoot up like that?
I'm in Win 98Sr 2 on a P3 933, 128meg ram and Voodoo 5500.

What kind of internet connection do you have? If it isnt your connection it may just be the server murmuring. Are you the only it happens to when it jumps?

Its a DSL connection thats running at about 1.4 meg down and 250K up. Pretty wierd. I saw that someone else had a similar problem so I don't think its just me, but there has to be a solution.

Does it happen on every server you try? Does it happen a certain time of the day or after a certain amount of time just playing at anytime? It happens to me sometimes but I go from 50 to 200 sometimes, not 999. Do you have any background programs running? Do they use the internet?
