How large are the landscapes of the levels? Are you able to walk nearly anywhere you want in any direction or is there mostly just one path that you must follow, like that of MOH for psx? I like it a whole lot more when you can choose from different paths to complete a level rather than sticking to the same old road or trail. Its always fun to be able to take a little detour, climb atop a building, hill, mountain, etc. and scope out the area that is instore for ya!

Yeah I'd like to be able to choose different routes aswell, but I'd say judging from pics of the game, such as the Omaha beach level, I'd say the levels are very large, so we shouldnt have trouble finding different ways of moving through the terrain.

Yeah, I have Red Faction and you can't blow up everything. You could blow up a few things and it does look cool. Geo-Mod is the best in the MP though.

I wonder how the cities will be like. Will there be just one main road or will there be a bunch of different roads.

Arimus 06-20-2001 01:29 AM

I think the best game for that would be Red Faction....being able to blow holes in walls gives a whole new concept to the word detour in 3D shooters http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Woa! Maybe I should check that out.

Just remember, apparently in Red Faction not EVERY surface is destructable, it is a cool feature but if thats the only selling point for the game then eh, I think I'll leave it, they hyped up all that Geo Mod stuff, and if the gameplay and AI suck in it then It'll be a waste of a really good idea and story line. But I'll wait and see the demo before I pass anymore judgement.

BallisticWookie 06-20-2001 03:34 AM

Well if 2015 wanna make this game look realistic in terms of landscape and such, I'd say they would have to include multiple streets in a town. I dunno about you, but when I'm walking through a town I wanna have as many side alleys as possible to provide cover and concealment aswell as provide the oppotunity to use some good tactics against the enemy, which couldnt be done with just one street.

Arimus 06-20-2001 04:31 AM

I don't think 2015 will let us down

BlueDevil 06-20-2001 05:18 AM

yeah side streets and ally ways are a must if anyone plans on having any cover or tactics.

Polaris 06-20-2001 06:31 AM

the idea in red faction is pretty cool , but the atmosphere doesnt suit me at all .

Hells-Angel 06-20-2001 09:53 AM

about 3 weeks ago this guy posted a thread called coastal walk basically asking how large the places will be especially omaha beach and elmagoo said that they were thinking about modelling all of europe but instead they just put out a huge portion and stated that we will plenty of room to do stuff, that is from memory lol. Anyways I think it would be cool if we could go all around.

Polaris 06-21-2001 12:52 AM

i hope you can do that in more then just snipertown . i wouldnt mind getting lost in a town

Red Faction absolutely rocks!!
I bought the demo of it for PS2 from Electronics Boutique for £5.
Does anyone know when it is coming out for PC??
Operation Flashpoint is perfect for going off course-better than Project IGI.
