If you think of the first MoH on the PlayStation as the experience of the individual soldier, think of this as the squad leader who has allies. didnt elmagoo say that there will be blood when you shoot an enemy in an exposed area like the face ?

it took me about an hour to find this , but here it is ....

quote:
I've mentioned this before in another post, but the only time you would really see blood is when you shoot someone in a bare, exposed flesh area, or the head. If you shot someone in the mid-section, you'd actually see a puff of dust because the blood would get caught in the clothing. If someone got shot in the arm or the leg, you'd see a red mist appear, but not tons of blood. The only time you'd ever really see gore (as in limbs flying off) is if someone got hit by a mortar or artillery/AA round. A grenade wouldn't really severe a limb unless a person jumped on it practically (grenades kill by fragmentation, not concussion).

if thats the case , then its good enough for me . but he could have been just saying that , if there was blood then thats how they would show it . |

Hey elmagoo, what exactly WILL we see when someone gets hit in exposed skin?
|
Yeah I was only talking about in real life combat, not the game.

Alas, you'll probably get nothing other than the character physically reacting to the bullet :(. It all depends upon how they split up the body region areas (the bounding boxes that are actually used for the hit detection). So for example, there's an upper and a lower arm region you can hit. Well, if a guy has his sleeve pulled up a bit on the skin, but that's enclosed around the lower arm region, then you'll get a dust hit anywhere in that region. This method is used for it's speed due to the high-poly characters that we have. You could normally do a per-poly detection method, but to sort through several thousand would be a CPU hog whenever someone got hit.
