Good idea? Bad idea?
2015: Is there such thing in the game? From what I've seen in the screenshots there isn't any... I'm all for an energy bar, make it more realistic, I hate bunny hoppers, you simply can't do that in real life. |

I think (Yes, Me thinking again). Well, I think that You should be able to look down, and see your own body. Field gear, Magazine Pouches, and everything.
This should be the way you managed everything. Looking down, No real menus, ammo bars or numbers, inventory selection, except maybe a highlight over the item in question. If you have one grenade. There it is. and you could select if by pressing a key and if would show your head look down quick, your hand pulling it off your belt, and then you looking back up again. This looking action would happen in less then 2 seconds. If you have two magazines for your Browning .45 - You look down quickly and your pouch is full. 3 magazines in your Thompson pouches, there are only 3 when you look. And if you look down, are hacking up blood and have a hole blown through your chest, I think you might die real soon. Any takers? Would be a heck of a lot more realistic then some menus telling you GPS information, weapon stats down to the smell and some health bar. |
That sounds like a pretty good idea but, maybe you can have an option to look down so it doesn't auto do for but, if you did look down you could see your hand plucking that grenade or magazine off you belt.

Energy bar? No health food promotion in this forum!!! http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
Seriously though, I'm all for some kind of a restriction to the physical of the soldier that you're controlling. |
what about in those times of complete chaos and fear ...people have been known to exert more strength and muscle power in certain situations ...
Will there be a Frenzy mode . where you can just go totally Balistic for a couple of minutes ? http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Yes, It's when you jump up and punch a Question box and get the Star, and the Music changes to a Mexican Fiesta and you cant be killed for 45 seconds.

DoD energy system is pretty cool but too restrictive. If you've played Urban Terror for Quake 3 they have a similar feature, but you are able to jump up to 10 times in a row and then all movement becomes sluggish. That would be a good feature, aswell as the climbing feature they have, you press down your jump button whatever that may be, and if theres a huge crate in front of you, you jump and your character hauls himself up. As for the looking down and seeing all your gear on your chest, I like it, maybe if you look down at your chest when you look over something it highlights and you press a button, and then you see his hand interact with the object. But just remember something like that is fairly CPU intensive and is just eye candy, not really needed, but would be a very nice feature.
