Missing things on aa.com
 

Not that I want to stress BS on his (unvaluable) work, but I thought it could be of help for him to have a list on what things we miss from the old aa.com, so he could check and fix them if he's unaware of any of them (I'm on my asbestos suit, so flaming really has no point)

- I miss the glorious (and large!) signatures on every post (<- fixed).
- Of course I miss the old green look! (but that's so evident...)
- Right now, when you post a message you got an error screen saying a mail error happened (yesterday mail notification wasn't working either, but you didn't get that screen) - Edit: I didn't see that screen when I posted this message, maybe cause nobody has to be notified since this is the first one on his thread (<- fixed).

I see no reason for anyone to flame you.

BS is working hard to get things back up. As you can see the AA.com logo is not even back. The generic PHPbb logo is were the aa.com should be.

The only thing that might not come back are all the old posts. When moving a db of this size to a newer version of phpbb, you sometimes loose some things. I have a gut freeling strik0r's 4000 post could have caused some of the problems :wink:

Give it another couple of days but if you are getting any error messages please post them here.

Sig is now back on.

Custom themes will be available soon. I want better themes (militaristic, funny, wacky and whatnot).

That error message is caused by mail server not set up yet.

Thank you very much, BadScript, not for the fixing work (which I thank you for it too!), bad for all the work you've put (and will put) on aa.com.

I've found a new glitch on the forum: on the message index of every forum, the posts are not being updated; I mean, when I look on the index of General Discussion this thread, it reads:

Replies: 0
Last Post : Fri Aug 09, 2002 12:15 pm yochoylamuete

Which is my first post, but your replies do not appear there, though. The message views are working right, though (of course I tried to reload the page on the browser, but no luck) (<- fixed).

I've tried a search and the contents of old messages are still being checked, so I hope you can fix that too, if possible.

Oh! and the "don't flame" apologies were because some people may think I'm complaining about things that don't work, but that's not my intention, really, just listing the problems so they can get fixed some time.

I was just going to post about this.

If someone (anyone) clicked "notify me when a reply is posted", all replies afterwards won't register because the mail won't send, but the messages are there.

Incidentially, I have got mail set up (sort of, don't send e-mail to us yet), and now that has also been fixed.

Now, smilies pack and themes left.
