Stalingrad 2 BETA Now Available....
i have successfully converted and rebuilt Stalingrad into a more suitable atmosphere for players. As of now, not all features have been added, but final version is now being worked on. Since files are still screwed here, you can get the file here. http://www.modtheater.com. look for the link as the file isnt on the site per say.

I really don't want to sound like an asshole but when you use Scorpio's awesome BSP viewer there is a warning sign when you start it up that says please use this for research and don't rip off EA's maps. You are basically doing what Scorpio told you not to.
I know that we are allowed to stick an MG42 for extra power or a stuka to block a way to get under a map. Is your map going to far?? Anyways good luck on the map :) -ktog3 |
he warns us that we could be infringing on copyrights. i take alook at all those mods to maps, such as adding things via scripting like Stalingrad Unbound and Extreme, and they would be infringing as much as me. So i assume since they didnt get busted, that i will be fine.
OH and just to let you know, if you like that map now, then you will love the full version. Every roof has access and there is a spot where you can snipe from that will get you some mega kills. I will post some screens shortly. thanks for your comments :D |
At this stage........i must say......original Stalingrad looks much better.....
|
Hmm.......
Some of the improvements are nice like the working lights and stuff but some things should been left alone. For example the fps boost comes from objects (such as crates) that are indoors are now gone. Some of them were handy to hide behind though. Some of the sniper spots cover has now been raped, the highest spot on the old stalingrad which had a small opening is now big enough to fit a horse through making concealing yourself hard. :-? And my sniping bush now looks a little weedier and thinner, it also doesn't seem as tight into the corner but im not sure if its been touched at all, aint played stalingrad much lately. And you have a couple of glitches like floating debris :) Where can i get scorpios bsp viewer anyway? |
just to let everyone know why somethings have changed, its b/c the conversion left about 40% of the map missing. i had to rebuild all that you see. no joke! thats why things on the inside are missing, they werent converted. also that window you speak of, i am now making it smaller and now the mg42 has some cover so now it is actually usefull. thanks again.

Very nice MPowell1944, Cant wait for the finished Product :) :o :D
|
The copyright that someone mentioned is a tricky situation caused by EA thenselves.
By releasing a Level Editor (a tool to edit levels) They allowed us to use all their designs, brushes, textures, scripts etc: So thats infringing on copyright kind of. So to say that MPowell1944 is infringing on copyright is the same as any map maker infringing also as they are all using the same designs, brushes, textures, scripts etc: Now if only i knew all that before the Wake Island thing :( kdja |
Gonna be similar to your ridiculous and completely piss-weak Snowy Park "enhancements" ?

Since theyve released the ability to manipulate the "barrel" texture into any map of your own design im off to download the full game of Kazaa since theres obviously no copyright attached to it. r3mix |
