How to change messages on the server?????
In a server how do you change the text message when you enter like "Click button to choose sides" I want to know how I can change that in my server as well as change some of the other text in the game.

search these forums for 'localization.txt' and I'm sure you'll find it.

Email me at jlandi@cox.net and I will send you the txt file. This one is extracted.
what you do is: Open file with notepad. search for "Press fire". now you should see a another "press fire" right after the first one. delete everything within the parenthesis. Add your custom text. you can also add line brakes by using the /r save our file Now create a new directory within your main directory called global. Place your newly edited file in there and reboot your server. you should see your new welcome screen the loc.txt file you pull from your pk3 file has it's attributes set to read only. if you know how to change them you can proceed without my loc.txt file Good luck |
problem is that we rent a server from a company, so i do my server stuff through ftp. now if i just start up a new global folder and put it on the server, will it read it, or do i have to put it back in the pak file

I assume you have access to rcon.
What you want to do is create a directory in your main folder called "global" if you do not have permission to do so, ask the provider to Then upload the edited txt file. Have them restart it or if they monitor your moh.exe, use the [code:f3920]rcon quit [/code:f3920] Command to kill the exe. If they have a program to restart your exe when it notices it's not running then your all set. Wait a couple of seconds and you should be back in business If not, you will have to email them to restart the moh.exe Good luck |
