mIRC Problems
 

I'm really new to mIRC and don't know much about it. While trying to access Gamenet it says Connection Refused. Anybody know what that's about/how to fix it?

I get that at times too mate. Just quite the whole program and then relaunch it.

I keep exiting out of mIRC, and going back in to try it...still get that message. I had it working the first time I used it, but not now :(.

EDIT: Nvm I got it. My DNS on my ISP wasn't working right.

Because those arnt really made special for huge group chats while irc is meant to handle it and is much better anyways

Sometimes your connection will be refused for a bad port, or if there are too many connections happening at the same time. You don't have to restart the program. Either let it try a different port, or press the disconnect/reconnect button until it connects.

Hollywood makes a good point. If you see your connection to the IRC channel is slow, change your port. there is a list of ports here and other useful info
