In the movie the player (Mike Powell) is reloading his M1 Garand whenever he wanted? Didn't the real M1 not give the person using it the ability to reload whenever he wanted. The person would have to fire off the remianing rounds until he heard that "ping" sound then he could put another "clip" in there.

NO, non no no, The m1 Garand did have the ability to change cartridges without the use of all bullets, but it was so diffifult to do that most soldiers just fired off their remaining shots instead.

Allow me to quote the Close Combat 1 manual, which really knew it's shit
"The U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30 M1 - or Garand - was the standard issue rifle for American infantry. Named after it's inventor, John C. Garand, it was the first semiautomatic rifle widely used in combat. Although it was adopted in 1936, the Garand was in short supply until 1943, but by the end of the war over four million had been produced. The Garand was easy to disassemble and clean, and it's combination of caliber, muzzle velocity, and semiautomatic operation provided superior firepower over bolt action rifles. It's only weakness was that the partially fired clips were so difficult to remove that GIs tended to simply fire off the remaining rounds and insert a new clip." Thank you, come again ------------------ http://101stairbornemohaa.homestead....t.Albow001.jpg |

its about gameplay, thats what elmagoo said when someone else asked this because everyone got annoyed that you couldnt reload in the middle, I dont think this small detail will spoil the game for you guys..... will it?
