More Team Play

Hello Guys,

I've had some great online games but by far the best ones have been when people team up & really start to work as a team. I think this is one thing most games lack.

It is amazing to see small squads of players behaving more like an infantry team than individual arcade players & seeing the progress they make. Mostly, they do well - very well.

I know MOHAA is a quick game but it is still pretty realistic (leaning & cheating apart!). Some guys are pretty good team players. For example, on Omaha in one match I was hiding behind some object on the beach, just keeping alive, when another guy started organised us - he just sat behind me demanding that I move up the beach..good point..nice team play. (No I didn't make it but his objective was that one of us made it.)

I know that clan play is probably more team focused but I wonder if there are any subtle changes they can make in the game to encourage more squad-based action. I'm not sure there is. I can tell you guys that infantry life is all about team play - watching our for each other - covering fire etc etc....

What do you think?

That would be nice. But it would never happen exect on clan servers. People don't have the patence to organise, they just wanna go out and fight.

I agree with both of you. Organized teams are much more fun to play with, but too many ppl want to run in and fight. I find the best maps I've played on were obj maps with just a few ppl. We use team chat a lot more and usually have greater success. But the more ppl you get on a obj server the faster and easier to get clobbered, so until there's just one or two left on your team, ppl are too busy to team chat.

If you want more team play, I suggest using obj maps more and being one of the first to talk to your team. The more they see you trying to organize, the more response you'll get from your team. While this doesn't work for everyone, those that don't help will probably not last long anyway.

<rant>Oh, and let me stress something to those that I've played with - WALK, DON'T RUN!!! I bugs the crap out of me when ppl are following me, but don't walk when I am. If you're making noise, you're giving away your position and thus mine! </rant>
