The Cognetwork on that page is giving me a constant 106K down.

geRV 08-16-2002 07:12 AM

Bah the game blows anyway, unless you have almost a gig of ram all you get is constant ram buffering.

Its just a novelty game, i thought it would be much more but take away the vehicles and it looks and plays like a sack of crap.

rudedog 08-16-2002 07:39 AM

Well Gerard we all have are own impressions of the game.
You need to chill out you never seem to be happy with any game

For me it runs flawlessly. I think this game will give MOH a run for it's money but MOH will continue to strive.

and yes, I have a gig of RD1066 ram

Sicilian_Summers 08-16-2002 07:56 AM

i have a friend that runs it on a gf2 MX with 256 mb ram fine. he just cant put bots at 400 :-?

also, if you played tobruk, that demo sucked. its probably the worst map out of anything. if you played wake, i must disagree with you.

Im just sick sore and tired of games being released in unfinished states and it being left up to the mod community to finish.

I can't model, code or make maps so that leaves me slightly pissed off when i would like to try things for myself. I have ideas for things which i know would work but if someone trys it and i have to explain stuff it just never comes out right.

Medal of honor promised a lot but delivered a crap deathmatch experiance with ww2 weapons. Even with the ckr mod its not up to par. If wer'e talking realism then the rifles should pack more range power and accuracey but at the minute all i see is the same routine every single map, sniper, mg that is all.

The whole goal of my mod is to deliver realism, mg's will not be whored anymore cause theyre gonna have a lot more recoil PLUS the mgr's are gonna move a helluva lot slower than rifle infantry.

Im basically taking the balance thats in day of defeat and trying to apply it to medal of honor. The day i go onto a moh server and see people playing something that even remotely resembles a ww2 game and not some friggin half assed mg deathmatch bs will be a happy one for me.

Im not alone in this, i know loads of people who wanted the gameplay of moh to be similar to dod but it never happened. Hopefully i can make it happen. Vehicles would be a good addition to medal of honor if theyre aplied right. At the minute the moh netcode is umm.. shit to put it bluntly. Vehicles could balls it up even more unless ea actualy tries to fix the code.

What we need is the lazy bastards at ea to actually put some money into developing the addon and doing it right. We also need to make sure they release the plugin for various modelling programs so people can start making and animating their own models. At the minute the mod community is crippled by not being able to make any major changes to moh but if ea actually does something right for a change then the game could become a lot beter over time.

BF42.com has 8 mirrors. Try there.

Sicilian_Summers 08-16-2002 08:02 AM

well, gerard. it would be one thing if the demos you played WERENT in their unfinished state. both were 1.0 of 1.7 (last time i checked) beta. they released them because they were leaked, and when people cried to EA for them to release it officially, they whined and complained about an unfinished demo :-?

Actually the tobruk dem was on the pc gamer uk magazine last month which is where i got it from. It didn't say it was beta so i assume it was a proper demo. Still run like crap though :/

BallisticWookie 08-16-2002 08:31 AM

Oooh, good stuff :) Thanks for the heads up guys. Although it does seem very arcade like, and probably isnt the most realistic game out there I will still be getting this one. Looks like alot of fun. Hopefully actual weapons used by the Americans will be included, ie, the Garand, Springfield so on so forth. That .303 doesnt really do it for me.

I agree. I remember when development was still in full swing and we were throwing 2015 ideas for gameplay left right and center. Did they listen to our plea's ?? Unfortunately, not really. With real modding capability MoHAA could rival DoD in the MP aspect. I guess a few small months wait wont hurt us that much. Hopefully the SDK/GDK/WhateverK will be released when the Addon comes out. *Crosses fingers*.
