Multi-user mod and other randomness

Is it possible to create a mod for MOH so that more than one person can save multiplayer names, skins and settings without manually changing them each time? That way siblings, roommates, and children could have their own persona etc.

Did Crow King add more pistol ammo to his realism mod, or was I hallucinating when I saw 40+ rounds of ammo last night?

Tso, to your second question you could have picked the ammo up.

the pistol thing was a seperate mod that added ammo and made pistol whip fatal in 2 hits

Thanks Strik0r

If your talking about the aa.com server. We do run a pistol mod. added a bit more ammo and increased the hit points for pistol wips.

You can now kill someone with 2 swipes to the back of the head

Cool...

I thought I was seeing things... It's nice to have more than a couple of clips of ammo, though...

this isnt quite a mod, but its what i do.

i have 2 cousins that play too and i hate having to go into the player options and changing things everytime i play (it was a nightmare when my brother and I were taking turns playing a level.)

so basically what you need is a new .cfg file for each persona. for me i had magnesium12.cfg and my bro had brother.cfg
in the cfg's you can specify name and skins and maybe other stuff (im not sure what all the config files contains really) and save them to the /main folder. not the config folder but the main one.

then in the game, if my brother was just playing and hands off to me, i bring down the console, type "exec magnesium12.cfg", and that executes the config file thats sitting in the main folder. thus instantly changin your name and skins etc. then when he takes over then he brings down the console again and types "exec brother.cfg" and his skins and name is inputted into the game right away too.

ive only used this for skin and name changes but setting i havent tried yet so let me know how it goes for that.

Uh...

How do I create a new config file? In the configs folder, all I have is unnamedsoldier.cfg.

Bazooka_Joe 08-29-2002 12:53 AM

Cut the file out of the folder, or just rename it to something like unnamedsoldierTSO.cfg, and then boot the game. When MOH can't detect the file, it will create a new one. This is how you can seperate the two. Then when you're done, just rename the new one to whatever, unnamedsoldierBRO.cfg, I guess.

what i did was make a copy of the unnamedsoldier.cfg and pasted it in the Main folder. then i changed the name of it to magnesium12.cfg and then used Microsoft Word to open it. it may say something about formatting, but i just clicked OK and then editted the file. then i just hit the close box and it asked if i wanted to save, i said yes then it might have asked some more stuff about formatting and i just clicked OK and it saved the file while keeping it a cfg and not turning it into a txt file or anything.

sorry if i seem a little unclear about the details but its been a while since i actually did it. maybe just do what bazooka said.

Whenever you edit a file using a typing program, use Window's Notepad. Any other program can change the coding of the file, and can corrupt it.
