No, there won't be any cheats of any kind, unless they are bugs in the game. The SDK was never released, and that is one positive reason that it wasn't.

Keep your eye on the crosshair when I lay waste to the sniper across the street.

It proves lack of reeding komprehenshun for one thing.

I shall have to repeat myself.... "Keep your eye on the crosshair when I lay waste to the sniper across the street."

WATCH the crosshair....it doesn't move an iota. Although bulletspread is serverside, gunkick can be locally applied..... in this demonstration ... a setting of zero.

Put it this way... I fire at you from 150 yards away.... after 1 or 2 seconds the guns recoil now has me aiming 10 feet over your head (in normal mode)... whereas with this thingy, the serverside bullet spread is STILL in effect but that "spread" is no longer shooting above your head it stays pointed right AT YOU.

See?

It also removed the smoke and flash for better visiblilty....or did you notice?

if you snipe on full auto you have problems to begin with.

In reply to the first poster... no. In reply to the no-recoil mod... Yeh, it stops the client-side re-coil of the crosshair, but this doesn't make you any more accurate at all. It's purely visual.

It does help a little, if you're a seasoned player and know how to keep your fire controlled without visual aid, but other than that it won't improve anyone's play a great deal. At the end of the day, the fact that your crosshair is not moving does not have any effect on the accuracy of the server-side physics at all. It just means you have a static reference point by which you can direct your shooting.

The actual angle that you're looking at is the determining variable that the accuracy models fire from, not the crosshair's position. All this mod does is stop the game from off-setting the crosshair to 'represent' the recoil effect.

Is it cheating? I'd say yes, but it's pretty tame cheating. It's like setting bobbing to zero in Half-Life... It certainly helps but it won't make you a great player all on its own.

It certainly doesn't come close to what the original poster was suggesting. You cannot alter the weapon's accuracy and power models client-side and never will be able to (at least until the SDK is released...)

"It just means you have a static reference point by which you can direct your shooting."

Aye....and to me it helped while testing it out greatly.

Ydiss 08-18-2002 06:33 PM

Yeh, I agree, but if someone needs this to be a great player they may as well not bother playing at all.

Hey man relax with the insinuations would ya? I quite inadvertantly STUMBLED across this fact while making a scoped BAR mod as a request to a friend for his own private matches. It wasn't until a day or two went by that I realized I had no: smoke, flash or jittering crosshair while playing on other servers. My intention wasn't to cheat....It was to answer the original posters question as honestly as I knew how.

In my defence I can only say this. Anyone on these forums who has seen me play knows I suck FAR TOO MUCH to be a cheater.
