What's the best CHEAP Video Card that I can buy?
OK right now I have a TNT vanta 2 16MB video card which really sucks ass. I'm thinking about buying a GeFroce 2 MX400 64 MB Which retails for 79.99 US dollars right now at Circuit City )Even though I hate them). Here's my other system specs:
AMD Athlon 1100 MHz 16MB Nvidia TNT 2 Vanta 128MB 133MHz SDRAM expandable to 256 20GB hard drive Given that those specs suck, should I stick with a 32 MB video card in case it's not compatible with my comp? (I know that shouldnt happen but you have no idea how bad this computer sucks) |
I'd get a Geforce3 ti200, it is only about 115 bucks and quite good for the price. http://www.newegg.com

I'm sure its a lot better than my 16MB vid card. I usually get 20-50 fps in outdoor areas and 70-90 indoors. |
Well, my GeForce 2 MX 400 was only $34 here. Look for it in some small store, it comes without a box, but, who cares. But, if you want some more bam for your buck (waiting for recognition of Emeril cool: ), go for the GF3 Ti200.

Yeah, I might go with GeForce 3. Just depends on how powerful I feel the day I buy it.

Holy cow, those prices SUCK!
Go to http://www.pricewatch.com GF3 TI200 for $87 delivered! Dont buy a MX-anything. You get what you pay for with those cards. I upgraded my vanta to a GF2 pro and got a good boost in proformance for a cheap price. You might consider the GF2TI. As far as I can tell, it is the same as the pro. The specs are identical, but they are listed as sperated cards on pricewatch with different prices. |
Id say get a geforce 3 ti200. Its a geforce 3 only clocked a bit slower than a regular verion. Can be easily sped up though :)
