Hot damn! aa.com server voice chat is now ONLINE :)

Due to Roger Wilco being so gheyified you have to reg the base station(which was why nobody could connect) my host and I decided on TeamSpeak.

[url:40903]http://www.teamspeak.org/[/url:40903]

join server

fastattack.org

pass=amber

for a general test if you're interested. Plz think about using a key to transmit and not voice activated. Should be common sense but we dont want to hear what your eating :P

Plz use your MOH nick and not your name. Much easier to see who is who than "John Smith"

[quote:40903]As for mic settings...
Right click the volume cntrl icon in your taskbar.
Choose Open volume controls.
Make sure MIC is checked.
Go upto Options and click Properties.
Choose Recording, make sure you have MIC seleted in the window underneath first.
In Recording make sure MIC is checked.

Do the loopback test and you should hear yourself. [/quote:40903]

5 seconds after installing TS with no messing with mic settings I was able to connect and talk to some friends.

Its up now and will stay up 24/7 unless the host has to reboot.

As soon as I finish reading up on what I can do I'll setup the different channels I mentioned in earlier posts but the general channel is online :)

Untill I get =DOA= setup with their own server plz respect the =DOA= rooms as private. BallBuster has admin (as does rudedog) and he is free to kick anyone from his rooms. If you get kicked its an automatic 24 hour ban from what my host tells me.

Brought to you by FastAttack.org biggrin:
Many thanks to FastAttack for hosting this and for his paitience with my ignorant ass :D

I need this , since I type so slow , but I know nothing about this stuff , never tried it before.... I downloaded the "TS Client Windows", that's the right one right?? Haven't installed it yet , trying to get more info first. Don't use a headset , have to use the mike for now. From the subject of this thread I assume this can be used on the aa.com server and I will be able to talk to and hear others who have this installed. Am I correct in this assumption ??

Jasper 08-20-2002 06:01 PM

Thats it OldGuy. Just install it, hook up your mic (suprising how many people are forgetting to do this) and in the Connection Tab hit loopback server to test your mic. Then disconnect and reconnect to my server. Should be simple as that.

Ok Jasper-
I got the darn thing installed, tryed to do the loopback thingy but did'nt hear anything eek: So i figured maybe all was well, and i just joined the server. Saw peeps on and heard somone say *hey* but could'nt talk. Also made a key for *talk* like you were talking about. Do I have to hold the key down or is it a on/off type switch. thanks in advance. mwah:

Ok, last night wasnt too bad. Some ppl have mic issues but we had upto 10 ppl on at once.

I have aa.com server rooms up now. In key bindings set your hot keys to switch between aa.com(general chat), aa.com_Allies and aa.com_Axis. Im not sure but are'nt the 'F' keys not used in-game? Anyway I have mine set to F4 and F5 respectively.

rudedog and the other admins can set Hotkeys to whisper to each other. This means only the person you are whispering to will hear you. Admins can discuss server issues or troublesome players in private. You can set whisper keys without the other player present. Just type in their name. I have rudedog set to F6. If theres too much traffic in the room you're in switch to the admin room but remember to to use the player hotkeys to talk or anyone else in that room will hear you.

I went in to this with blind faith "if you build it, they will come" mentality and I wasnt prooven wrong last night. Hopefully this will catch on to the point guys are using the Allies/Axis channels in-game.
