Laptop
I need to buy a laptop before classes start up again. I want something that will satisfy the needs of both gaming AND school work. Anyone know of any good deals out there?

Your not going to find anything that's worth a crap for gaming. You can't really get a decent video card for laptops unless your willing to pay a fortune, so any games that have a lot of 3D rendering (like MOH) are not going to run on your laptop. If you want to play the type of games that do run well (less graphic intensive and 2D games), then it really doesn't matter much what type of laptop you buy because any newer laptop will run those type of games with ease.

Are you fuckin nuts?, I have a Dell ispiron 8200 1.6 gigs, 40 gig hd, 512mb ram, geforce 4 go. MoHAA runs with everything on high, smooth as butter. And any other games like SoFII, Combat flight sim 2, and other graphics intenstive games run really really well., so you guys that say laptops are not for games, are dumb as rocks. P.S. laptop gaming means gaming anywhere biggrin: |

Heres a different question. What about an Apple Powerbook? I've used one before. It kicks ass. Will I be able to use this in conjuction with a PC at home tho? For example, will I be able to write documents in OSX and transfer them to MS Word etc.? Thanks for the help and opinions!

You can transfer documents from Mac to Win, but you usually get a lot of problems. Microsoft makes a version of office for the MAC, but in the past I know converting documents between MAC and PC was often a problem, all of your formatting would end up screwed up. I know that MAC claims that this isn't a prob any more, I will believe it when I see it.
