Tips / Tweaks to speed up gameplay
Spend a little time, go through this to help speed up your gameplay 1. Scan for "Scumware" and delete it from your computer Trust me - you probalby have some and this crap transmits data in the background slowing down your connection Go Here to get Ad-Aware http://www.lavasoft.nu/index.html guru3d.com has some GREAT Utilities / Answers / Fixes to get your computer smokin' again Check out the "Detonator Destroyer" it removes all the old nvidia garbage in your registry. This is super helpful because nvidia keeps releasing new drivers and some of the old drivers end up in your registry and can casue problems Download your video drivers first - then run the tool http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/ SHUT DOWN all unnecessary garbage in windows task manager ctrl+alt+del All of these DO NOT need to be running on your computer Shut these off (if you have them) AIM.exe MSMSGS.exe EM_EXEC.exe SAgent2.exe Crypserv.exe defwatch.exe rtvscan.exe URLMAP.EXE dw.exe OSD.exe SVAPLAYER.EXE SaveNow.exe qttask.exe DellMMkb.exe NAVAPW32.EXE Directcd.exe WkUFind.exe fxssvc.exe nvsvc32.exe PackethSvc.exe Nhksrv.exe WkCalRem.exe These sites will give you a list of the stuff to shut down http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/strangeservice.htm http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist ... sklist.htm Or if you have something running you dont know what it is go to http://www.monstercrawler.com and search for the exact string that is showing up - you will find a site that describes what it is and if you should kill it or not Dont Worry - shutting down these things does not delete them from your system. The next time you reboot your computer they will all be back. If ya' screw up and shut something down you were not supposed to your system will be unstable, just reboot - it will be fixed! =[DOA]=BallBuster |
