They couldn't make it bloody, it had a teen rating. I don't mind blood not shooting out when you hit somebody, but when a mortar shell lands on top or near a soldier, limbs are going to go flying. But aside from that, the level was probably the best experience I have ever had in a game. Sure it could have been better if it didn't have all the scripts and everything, but it was pretty good for a first attempt.

well ya your right it should of had more of the WW2 outlook but hey at least it came with heavy artillary that blew you all the way to hitlers door step. but i have to admit they should of used like planes that come in or they should of made it more realistick like for example. after you use the bangaloors like 10-15 of your men run across to get to the base of the bunker and only three make it now i just think thats downright impossible at least five of them should of made it they should set settings that when one of your allies get shot he gets shot he doesnt just fall to the ground and die like that like some sort of command they should make it more realistick

not violent enough?

remember that Omaha beach was not just the little plot of real-estate in teh game, it was a lot bigger.

Having 1000 people get cut down on Charlie sector would leave nothing for teh other sectors.

Well considering that the Allies achieved near total air superiority over Normandy, and that only two Luftwaffe planes were spotted in the air during the duration of the battle, it would have been completely unrealistic to have planes make strafing runs or anything like that.

Omaha was so bloody because the Allies' naval gunfire failed to destroy the German defenses and because of devestatingly accurate artillary fire from guns well inland and outside the range of return fire from the naval guns. Both those factors play a role in the AA Omaha scenario.
