How to stop graphics settings changing everytime i run MOH?

Im lucky enough to be able to run MOH with all the graphics settings on and maxed out. but i keep colour and textures and 16bit and screen size off 1024 x 768.

However everytime i run MOH these settings have all changed o lower values. Any idea how i can make these settings stick! ive tried turning my MOH directory and files to read only but it dosent seem to work :(

Thanks for any help.

Gordy

Sounds like you've been using a server launcher.

If you are running a dedicated server launcher, it'll always use its' own unnamedsoldier.cfg file, overwriting yours.

That would explain why you always have the default settings in your unnamedsolder.cfg when you start the game.

Nope, no server launcher :(

Hmmm....

Check your desktop shortcut target string (right click the icon and choose "Properties") to ensure that you are not specifying a separate or different config file.

The default should read something like "C:\program Files\Ea Games\MOHAA\Mohaa.exe"

This is rather odd. A few other people have had this issue as well. It's a longshot, but have you have any mods in your MOH\Main directory? Has it always done this, even since installation? If not, have you tried reinstalling?

Yeah, that would be my next recommendation. Pull out all your mods and see if that makes any difference. If so, try putting them back one at a time to see if you can isolate the culprit.

If that's not successfull, try a repair/reinstallation. Apply the patches and see what happens.

Dunno guy, but good luck.

One reason this happens is if you have some kind of custom config setting the bitrate and video modes for you.

This may not be the case with your problem but the best way that I know to set the screen resolution is to open notepad and write this into it:

r_mode 6

(I think 6 is 1024x768)

Save this as custom.cfg (in main folder). Then open the console in moh:aa and type "exec custom.cfg" and from then on your display will be at the same size, unless you alter this file (or remove it).

This will work for color and texture bits but I can't recall the actual cvars for those settings (someone help out, please).

At any rate, whatever commands you put into your custom.cfg file moh:aa will always execute them for each game you start. I'd suggest trying this first to see if it works at least for the screen resolution.

Hope this helps.
