he's talking about how we should post movies of our re-enactments on our web site

Which would be a great watch. Those 2 small videos at Fox Co. 2/26 Inf... are very cool. Makes me really want to find out more about Reenacting in Australia. Only Australian groups I've found so far are in another state which is a sad state of affairs, but ohwell.

yes, unfortunatly, that's re-enacting for ya. I have to drive to a neighboring state to attend (of course the distences involved are nothing like those in Australia). And you sometimes have got to look ou for 'FARB' groups, who view the hobby as just an excuse to put on a costume and shoot guns. Unfortunatly some clubs aren't as dedicated as others.

No, I am part of an association that re-enacts battles from WWII. Th unit I'm in is the German 12th SS Panzer Division. Our counter-part, the American 1st nfantry has some movies of two 'battles' on their web site. We don't have any up on ours yet though. go to www.phwhg.org

burgen you guys should make sound clips too. I want to hear that mg-42. (I fired my uncles mg-42 but it was just semi auto.)

yes. . . you have to fire an mg-42 at its full 1200 rpm to fully experience its killing power

Well we use blanks, and yes it is rather expensive, $27.50 for a bag of 100 rounds. But when you have a bolt-action mauser (they are the real thing) 100 rounds will last you three, three-day-events. But as a machine gunner I have to buy about 200 rounds and the other guy (waffenampt) on my MG-team buys another 200-300 rounds.
For a battle we use an accurate scenario but we play it our tactically and as such the outcome may be different that it did in history. Now you may ask, "how do you know you're hit?" Well all of our engagements are at close range and we are on the honor system, if I got opened-up on by an M1 from 20 feet then I would 'take the hit' and 'die'. we are all friends and so we try to be fair as possible. ------------------ http://www.skalman.nu/third-reich/bi...rop-var-15.jpg "Victory at any Price!"
