help with dedicated server

Aight I'm trying to start a dedicated server and I put all that shit on a word pad document and named it serverXX.cfg. I also put it in my MAIN folder in my MOHAA directory. But when i try to start it, it says "couldn't exec serverXX.cfg". And yes i added the proper variables to the target box in the properties of the MOHAA shortcut.(.....+exec serverXX.cfg)
Please someone help me figure this out, because I am very confused. oOo:

did you save you cfg file as text or just rename the file to cfg, look in properties to see what it is.

not sure if you know what i mean but i made the same mistake first, sure someone could explain it better.

I think jww had a lot of experience with this one. biggrin:

Follow his instructions. Make sure you save as plain text, with the ext. cfg

your better off using notepad instead of word or wordpad. Word /workpad adds a lot of formatting txt that the cfg file does not like

I learned the lesson of not using Wordpad for any game editing besides README'S (heh) when I was making skins back in my Jedi Knight days. I would use it and totally destroy this models.dat file with the re-coding of Wordpad. It. . .sucked. heh
