The battle of Arnhem / Traxx

Don't know if this is known...with all these guru's hanging around here (Hiya Scorp :p), but blueyonder have this file up [url=http://gamefiles.blueyonder.co.uk/blueyondergames/medalofhonouralliedassault/modifications/germanassault/patches/win32/GA_MP_DEMO_ENG_1.zip:1f71d]here[/url:1f71d] which is titled german assault mp demo.
This demo, though I couldn't get it to run does contain two deathmatch maps called 'The battle of Arnhem' and 'Traxx' and can be used be renaming the file User-gaPak02.zip to .pk3

Don't know about the legal mumbojumbo as I'm sure it's all copyrighted and stuff, so I'm not putting the pk3 up :D

O yeah, if you already knew all this; WHY WASN'T I TOLD?! mwah: :-P


edit: O yeah, the mentioned .zip is placed in your main directory after GA is installed OVER MoH:AA

Yea. I have seen them.
The maps can be extracted and used.
The only copywrite i know of is it can not be sold.
which goes for all maps made.
EA purchased the software license from ID software.
what that means if you make a map, and use anything from MOH/AA- textures, code, models. In addition. EA has released a Editor giving permission for owners of a copy of MOH/AA to make and distribute maps.
If at any point you deside to sell your work from a profet.
Then your in big trouble. from both sides. EA and ID software.
You could sell only if you pay a liscencing fee.
last i checked i believe it was about $150,000 for sell rights.
Although using EA's textures and designs. the price might be higher.
but full Q3 engine is like $250,000 from ID

I remember the makers of German Assault specifically asked that people wouldn't use the maps independent of the whole mod. So it's a question of respecting their wish or not. angel: They have a right to be angry with you if you don't, but that's it. No pressing charges or anything.

Ah IC, all old news for the guru's :D
