IMPORTANT question on Pak file...

When I download pak files such as weapon skins, player skins, or weapon sounds, I then extract that pak file to the MOH main folder...now here is the question...

Do I HAVE to rename it Pak#? Or all I have to do is just extract the file to the folder, and that's it?

Do yourself a favor and don't extract the contents of the pk3 file into the folder. This makes it difficult to remove the item, if you get tired of it. Instead, download the zip file and put the pk3 file unchanged into the folder. If you're already doing this, then I apologize. You weren't clear.

Anyway, no, you don't have to rename anything. Just put the pk3 in the folder and play.

how can I pak many maps or skins together?

I'm not really good at that, but I open the map pk3 files with Winzip and extract the contents of every map to another folder. Then, select all of the extracted files, right click, highlight Winzip, click Add To Zip, click the New button, find the mohaa/main directory, type a filename (such as "user-maps"), click OK, and change the end of the filename to *.pk3 instead of *zip.

In my experience this doesn't work with players skins, weapon skins, or pretty much anything else. The only things I've had luck with are maps and things like crosshairs, scopes, avatars and the like.

Hopefully someone else can clarify, since I know next to nothing about this.
