The Plight of Online Gaming
 

What is the deal with the forums lately...its become so damn hostile and full of jerks? I can barely read one thread without it containing some futile, time wasting, pititful "typed arguement". Im noticing this trend too in online gaming in general...Mohaa is my first fps game, but im not new to online gaming. Ive been playing Moh for almost seven months and in these past few months ive noticed the negative people are increasing. I guess alot of the negativity stems from the fact that online gaming's demographic is mostly young kids to young adults-especially for first person shooters. Im in a squad for microsoft combat flight simulator 2 and that community is made up of mostly an older demographic...there are a few jerks but the number of them pail in comparison to mohaa. In the end it doesnt really matter, im just wondering has it always been like this in fps games? like doom quake half life etc....

I agree Jaybird. I think it's just a bunch of kids trying to assert themselves in the world, and being jerks in a forum or a game is a way to do it. Makes them feel powerful and important. Heck, I'd probably do it if I were still immature and needed to lash out. oOo:

Heh, I barely talk on FPS games, I shoot, and die. That's about what I do. I try not to be annoying or immature, but, it's pretty hard, it's just me. I mean, there's a lot more immature people than me. In Health class, we are learning about the reproductive system, and every time the teacher said "penis" or "testicles" the kid behind me cracked his ass up. I can't wait until Thursday, we're learning about the female reproductive system... eek:

I dunno some people are wierd. I play CS a lot and a rarely say much while i play and i never haxor but i always find myself kicked and banned forever eek: bastards

I post something here saying ya online games are like this etc

Flipside will come and say "Ya cuz you play them" or something

Then Innoxx will say "Ya, because he is from Ontario"

and shit will start

but anyway...in Online games I see alot of references to people cheating when they are killed, or like how guy going all ape shit on some people.

There is that city folk Ontario jargon again!
