Sound Modding Help
Ok, this is driving me friggen crazy. I'm trying to add my own sounds (weapons and so on) but I'm having alot of trouble. oOo: I know (pretty much) how to go about this. (Make a zip, name it user-whatever.pk3, include the sounds in the zip with their mohaa name and so on) but whenever i do that, it doesnt use my sounds. So I thought I did something wrong, so I download an already made one and add in my sounds. And it still doesn't use mine, it just goes back to the default ones. Am I missing something?

Are they in the correct folder structure
example my sound.mp3 should be in amb_stereo folder in sounds .pak3 They must be in the same file struture for mohaa to read them. So find the sound you want to change note the EXACT name of the folder its in then and each folder after that place yours in an identical structure and they should work. kdja |
The Garand sound (for example) isn't in a file structure, just in the pak3.pk3 file. No folders in it. So are all the other sounds I want to replace.
Oh, and I thought the Modding Theater died or something? Glad to see it's still here cool: |
I just renamed a DOH sound file i have and pak3 it in this structure.
DOH.WAV FIRE folder WEAPONS folder SOUND folder User-MOD-KDJA-Homer.pk3 And it worked fine. kdja |

same
when i was makin my rifle sound mod i ran into some similar problems. Some wav files just refused to work with mohaa, it left me with either the wrong sound or no sound for that event when i was testin. i still havnt figured out why some wav's wouldnt work but odds are you got the same prob. try just 1 test, replce one of the non functional sounds in your mod with a different one from another mod that you know works. this is a good way to test and see if your sounds will work or if its your structuring. if oyu replace one of your sounds with another and it still dont work then its got to be your pk3 makeup like the guys above said. mwah:
