Problems with weapon skinning

Hey all

I've done some weapon skins - they work fine on my computer but none of those who has tried them can't get them working. It's a skin pack with skins for all weapons except the rockets. People who has tried them haven't got any other weapon skins in their main folder. I've saved them as .tga files, 32bits.

That, by the way, is another thing - should I save them as 16, 24 or 32 bits files?? I'm a newbee to weapon skinning, though I've used photoshop for ages...

Some skins have .dds files in the pk3 file...is that relevant to my problem, and what's in the .dds files?

I haven't posted them here yet, but I will when my mates can get them working too.

Hope some of you can take some time and answer my questions...

Its my understanding that .dds files are compressed textures. There's a plug-in for it available *somewhere*.

If you just use .tga files, you have to make sure texture compression in the advanced options of MOHAA is NOT selected.

As for bit depth, use 24bit. Works for me.

Sometimes if your vidio settings are 32 bit or youve got texture compression on. Fiddle about

i will give those skins a thrash tonight..... didnt know you were still having problems. ill get ya email from somewhere and let you know.

like you mentioned the problem might be with the format you saved them in.... ill have a play with that as well and see if they work.
