NEED some advice -you can shoot thru rails others you cant??
I need some help here dont know if this was talked about before but i have one server where you can shoot thru rails and another where you cant..both have the same realism mod..is this a server thing?? is there something i can add to the server config so it can allow you to shoot thru the rails? if not is there atype of mod or script i can add to the maps?

I believe your speaking of custom maps
some map makers use caulking want applying the rail texture to it causing bullets not to go threw proper way is to use no draw then texture 1 side so bullets will go threw. all depends on how the map was made really, and who made it. |
No, i have expierienced the same thing. As in Remegen, the rails in there sometimes arent "shoot thru-able". I always wondered same thing.

ok.. well then if thats the case
they edited the shader file for that texture, or its corrupted. |
yeah im refering to all the default maps..bullets will hit the actuall bars and wood but inbetween you can shoot thru...thats the so called shooting thru the rails..the other is where you cant even shoot inbetween the panels or bars..so ill goto one server with default maps and another with the same..just i can shoot thru in one and not in the other Id like to make it so you can shoot thru the railing on my server on the maps

WHOEVER SOLVES THIS PROBLEM IS A GENIUS!!!!!!
Hey, this answer is very important. I have experienced this on a couple of servers and asked why. All the admins have told me thats the default when the game server host installed it for them. They even mentioned that the host has no clue why this is ocurring. EA themselves do not understand why this is happening and just exactly like Cleaner explained is whats happening. There is nothing custiom about maps with rails. There is nothing corrupted, especially after a brand new installation and the same problem occurs. Other servers within the same IP range do not have this problem. Someone who knows exactly what is causing this can be a huge help to others having the same problem. There is no reference to this problem via anywhere on the net. So, whos gonna be da man???!!! |
