custom skins (maybe im dence)
ok so i have been reading through all the posts about custom skins and i just want to get this straight.
i am running a dedicated server and have a few custom skins inj stalled on that machine and mine as well. now the question is...do all of my clients have to have the skin installed on their machine as well in order to see these skins that i am using?? or is haveing them in the server enough. oOo: |
yes
yes. skins are server and client side mods. even though u have them in your server, if the client doesnt have them in his/her machine then they wont see them. thats the only problem with skins. I WAS going to make a pack with a lot of the newer and more realistic skins in them , but when i ran into a problem , no1 seemed to want to help out. there fore i scrapped the plan. if some1 would make a pack that can be downloaded into a server and downloaded byt the client then most skins would be uniformly visible all around, but once again this depends solely on the willingness of both parties to obtain and install the skins.

thx

Well, we tried to install that 122skinpack on our TheGamehost server. Installing is easy. but it dont seem to work.
It seems that users that dont have the skinpack on their PC see "faulty" skins like Axisskins in Allies-side and other way around. Someone said that's normal and you cant load skinpacks on a server without causing trouble like this. Anyone have a comment on this ? |
i agree with someone. every server ive seen with skins loaded, if ya don have that skin then ull see weird stuff like axis rangers or allied ss. i wouldnt think its a fualty skinpack.
