Help with modding a shotty.
 

Thanks in advance for any help. My problem is, I'm trying to change the lenght of the shotty, seems when I extract the winchester files from Pak2 it has 2 files there, a winchester.tga and winchester.dds, what do I have to edited?? seems editting the tga file alone does not do it, do I also have to edited the dds file?? if so how do I go about doing that, I use Photoshop or Paintshop Pro, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i believe the dds files are used when texture compression is activated in the video options. other wise it uses the tga. how did you shorten the shotty? my guess is that you 'alpha channeled' the barrel.

Well, I have not done anything yet, because even when I only edited the tga file and turn off the Texture Compression, it does not work or even load the game, what I'm looking for is help in what I have to do to shorten the barrel of the shotty, any help would be appreciated, I do think one has to edited the dds file, like what you see on the mod made for the axis bazooka, where they removed the shield. Thanks again for any help

i have that damaged panzershreck mod, but theres no dds file in the one i have just the tga. i messed around with it though and now look at it!!

its cra-a-a-a-zy!! im sure that if this can be done to the shreck, then a similar edit can be done to the shotty, i may try later.

Well the one I have does have a dss file, also I was not able to see the image you posted. Seems either I'm tottaly lost and don't know what I'm doing or maybe not explaining what I'm doing. Thanks

you didnt see the image i posted because i just uploaded it and added the links just now. i originally posted my message before i even went to go take the screenshots. i had hoped no one would notice that the pictures werent there before i uploaded them, but i guess you did, darn.

im posting again cause i find that editing a previous message TAKES FOREVER!!!

anyways, i noticed that if you shorten the barrel of the shotty, your left hand will still be where the barrel used to be, so it kinda looks like you're about to shoot your hand to pieces!! (though the shotty blast will still come from where the barrel end still is, all the barrel is is invisible)

is that ok?
