Screenshots of RUNGSI's new map! Eye of the Needle
 

I've been testing out RUNGSI's new map Eye of the Needle. This map is definitely a lot of fun to play. It's got a little something for everyone. Destroyed buildings, a bridge that can be defended on one side by two entrenched MG42 machine guns which really impressed me, several bunkers on the other side from which to machine gun the crap out of some one who comes near. And of course the lighthouse, which has a well lit spiral staircase leading up to windows from which a sniper could have his choice of targets. Its a map with a fresh idea. Its well designed and well textured. He's still working on it so I dont know when he plans on releasing a beta. But till then here are some screenshots compliments of me!

looks cool but the mg42 nest r pointless...snipers pick them off easily....add a no sniper mod??? flamethrower:

Seeing how rungs thunder maps turned out ill bet this is one i wont want to ever stop playing! As for snipers on this new map ill guess ill have to snipe the snipers then.

Thatll take the fun out of the map. What one team can do is cover the mg's and snipe the snipers.

Looks like a very good map. When will it be released to the public?

Not to brag but im one of the people who get to beta test this bad boy!Hopefully later today or sunday hell release it to DODD who wil upload to the site and watch the ratings and the downloads go up within 2 days! Seeing how popular the thunder series is this map will rock.

I sent the map off to mark lastnight.
He is going to test out his new server and compile it.

I wouldnt worry too much about snipers.
Yes there are a lot of sniping areas, but not everyone plays as snipers.
plus there are many areas to get cover.
If your positioned in the fox hole. its really hard for a sniper to see you from across the map.
Besides. snipers job is to give cover while troops can push forward.
the map can change shape or form depending on how the test comes out.
If sniping seems to be a problem in areas. then corrections will be made.

The first beta version will be released to anyone who wants to help test it.
All you need to do is send me and e-mail saying you want to help test it..
and thats all I need. your name wil be added and soon as map is ready. you will recieve an email with the link for download.

Well we have the map about ready
we are trying to tweak the 30 cal machineguns.
They ethier work right. Or they dont get added.
Period.

So the map will be ready by tomorrow or monday to test?

Yep,
problem with 30 cals is the models origin is set for you to stand in a jeep
What this does it throws the aim off. you shoot lower then where you are aiming.
So we are attempting to remove the crosshairs.
If we get it working correctly. the test will have 30 cals
but if not.
mg42 will do for time being

its always the small things that slow you down.
