It's not going to make a lot of difference going over 512Mb. Unless you're on Windows 9X in which case things will work out badly, cos the vtable is capped at 768Mb, and that covers physical memory...

Is he using Windows, and if so, when he changed the M/B did he reinstall windows. Often a new M/B without reinstallation causes major aggro especially Windows 2000.
