I did a little test on that myself. I altered the files on the soviet corporal from the SP files. The arms were the US army OD sleeves. The weapons were all US. I don't think I got to the smoke...

As far as I have heard all of the custom maps are supposed to be compatible. I don't recall the particular interview but it was noted that the DEV team stated all custom maps would work with SH.
