vid_restart works every time for this.

Yes the real compass is very nice. Most of the other mods are okay but would never use them. Like the red & white crosshair is just to big, it would end up blocking the target from view.

Hard mode is the only way to play SP otherwise you might as well be running around in GOD Mode.

It does make escaping the fort at the end a bit of a challange though.
