In multiplayer they should have a shorter time for dissapearing, because that may cause some lag. But if they don't dissapear, the consequence is a hightened RAM requirement to play the game.

Tripod isn't that good to host images. Brinkster used to wrok good, but then it started to use the dumbass image replacement script which makes you see a brinkster advertisement instead. Try it...
