Assuming you use your right hand to look with the mouse, it is more comfortable to place your left hand over "wasd" than over the numberpad, or the arrow keys, which are all the way over on the right...

i don't think you can host on 56k but i don't think this is what you were trying to do

Make sure to sort the servers by ping in gayspy or in the in game browser...
