The reason why Americans take credit for winning WW2, is because without the US, Germany would have won.

Flame me, but I won't change this opinion. Do you have any clue how many vehicles the US gave to the USSR? Tanks? Guns? Money? Hell, the US practically supplied the USSR with everything it needed, when it was at it's lowest point. The USSR survived because of the US's deep pockets. Later on, the USSR's production capablities came on line, and it was their war totally, from about '42 onward, and it's facilities were churning out tanks, vehicles, etc.

The US also helped out France, by giving the Free French vehicles, and aiding them in other ways.

Britain received our help as well.

Just remember the debacle at Dieppe. An invasion by Canadians and British, that failed. With the US, they succeed.

Without the US, Germany would have won, as Britain could never have mustered up the manpower to launch a full scale invasion France (or anywhere else, for that matter), even with it's Commonwealth nations pitching in.
