Uhhhh - DELL? Gimme a break.
800 bucks for a computer?
Get yourself a combo MOBO/CPU AMD 2100 XP - thats what 250?
Hard Drive - Bare 120 GIG, 2mb Buffer - 120 bucks for one.
nVidia GeForce4 4200, LeadTEK - 200.
CD-RW - If you get anything over a 24 write speed, considering NO CD's can be written that fast, you should be shot. Cheap - 50-60 bucks.
Memory - DDR, 512 - 100 I believe.
So thats about 630 right there, with 170 left to spend on SOUND CARDS (god) and whatever else you want. And that's retail prices. You know how much MORE you could save with PRICEWATCH, or ever freaking EBAY?
Prebuilt means more for parts and labor, for the "high-end" stuff you MUST have. What a joke. Never, EVER, will I buy a pre-built computer.
And no costumer support? Please. If I have a problem I sure as hell am contacting my equipments maker.
And of course a NIC card, but what MOBO DOESN'T come with one.
