i saw a making of it yesterday. in episode 8 at Battle of the Bulge. its in a forest, but the forest is fake. its inside a airplane hanger. it took 4 weeks to cover the place with artificial snow. then they got trees that blow up at the middle and fall in half. its on HBO, not HBO2, or 3, or 4, or however many more there are.
