Whats a gefroce? eek:
Direct x 9 support? Been there done that, ati has had it since the r-9700 release. It was pointless for the radeon and its pointless now. Simple fact of the matter is games are still being coded for directx 8 standard.
Directx 9 still is being worked on, it may come out next month but even then by the time games companys start coding games to take advantage of dx9 funcionality the r-9700 AND the "geforce fx" (ghey name btw) will have been superceded by ati and nvidia's next products.
The r-9700 paper release was in july meaning the chip was finished and they were shipping chips to manufacturers. Nvidia are 4 months behind with their new chip and have obviously had time to improve on the 9700. The nv-30 you buy in stores will be very different frm the design nvidia had in mind before the 9700 was unveiled. Basically they've had to redesign parts of it so it can surpass 9700 performance.
Doesn't really make much difference though, at the minute ati are ahead of nvidia in the graphics card race because of nvidia devoting loads of resources to te development of the xbox chip. If nvidia want to get back in the race then their next card is going to have to come out BEFORE ati release the nv-30 buttscrewer called r-350. And knowing nvidia's development cycle that isn't gonna happen.
