why does everybody say some match is always the greatest rivalry in all of college football

Who gives a shit about rednecks from alabama facing I dont even know what comes from Auburn.

I could say the leafs and montreal is the biggest rivalry in hockey, but I am sure someone like ninty9 would say clagary and edmonton
