AA and AF as was mentioned are two VERY different things that can have a great effect on your game, its look, and card performance.
For my money, AA in GeForce cards doesn't amount to much - the same in ATI cards. Anti-Aliasing doesn't provide enough of a "smoothing" for my moneys worth, whereas Anistrophic Filtering will take ALOT of that edge of jaggies and not sacrifice game-performance. I prefer AA over AF, and NEVER both at the same time.
And who DOESNT get high ass settings at 800 X600. Please. Setting that low you better be getting good frames. 1280-1024 is the only way to go in my opinion.
