No the display version doesnt come with R/C parts, it just moves forward, so yeah you would have to buy any R/C parts seperate.

As for the difficulty, I found that it was fairly easy to put together, mainly due to the size of the parts, the suspension system is a little tricky but not to hard once you get going. The plastic parts fit together really well, the instructions are very easy to understand. Overall its a fun build and looks damn good when done.
