Changi was a fictional Australian Drama/Situational-Type Comedy, set in the WW2 Japanese POW camp of, you guessed it, Changi... It was a wonderful show, and I was just crusin' it's Website, and found it had their version of 'Road to Gundagai" on it, so I thought it had some relevance to WW2, so here it is...
Episode 2 was about Gordon's refusal to salute the Nip Officer named "Lt Aso - Lt Arsehole", so the Japs made him stand on a box in the scorching sun until he would salute, he didn't, so they beat him horribly, he still didn't salute, so they cut one of his toes off, still he wouldn't salute, infact, it was only until they threatened to shoot his friends that he finally gave in. Oh man, I'm feeling all jittery thinking about it, I'll go watch it now...
Sung to the tune of 'Road to Gundagai'
There's a bloke on a box,
All around are tiny cocks
Along the road to Gundagai.
They smell like Tojo's armpits;
Their looks are very plain.
Add them all together
You might get half a brain.
There's a man on a mound,
Still his feet are on the ground
Along the road to Gundagai.
He won't salute an arsehole;
The bloke won't lift his arm.
He stands inside the prison
Proud and bloody calm.
There's a mate on a crate
Got the Nips in quite a state
Along the road to Gundagai.
Along the road to Gundagai.
There's a Jap with a crack
And wedged up a cricket bat
Along the road to Gundagai.
The Nips all call him Arsehole;
He has no real friends;
When he walks around the prison
The bat hangs out his end.
There's a Nip with a rump
And wedged up a cricket stump
Along the road to old brown eye.
Along the road to old brown eye.
