Umm...do you know how HEAVY those things are and how much they kick? The weapon was 4 feet long and weighed 25lbs, for Pete's sake! Nobody ran around shooting an MG-42 in the war, dude.

Using your reasoning, here are my gripes with Spearhead:

1) No lemonade stands. How's a thirsty soldier supposed to get a glass of frosty lemonade in downtown Brest, I ask you.

2) Lack of blue eyeshadow for Russian soldiers. Totally inaccurate.

3) When I get shot, the bullets don't ricochet off my chest like Clark Kent. They should.
