you can use your rcon outside of the server to get info without joining. just type this in console when you first start up sh.

rconaddress 00.000.00.00 <-- your server's ip of course in place of the zeros

then type in your rconpassword like you would while in the server. then you can use all the rcon commands from outside the server.
