Lets run this down

you have a computer with a private IP address
you have a modem with a public address

you try to host your server from the computer with the private address thus, this is the ip address seem from your MOH console ( private IP )

This will work for any out bound traffic. as your modem, bridge, router or whatever is sitting between you and the outside world. It will open any ports requested from behind the device ( this device trusts all outbound traffic)

If you try hosting a moh server. the server is going to broadcast it's ip address (which is private) to the master server (gamespy). You still need to tell the device which has a public IP address to pass any packets back to the private IP address which is running the server.

Even if you have open traffic Network address translation (NAT) is happening here.

I personally have never used a xDSL modem so I do not know how they work. I do know some of them need to dial the ISP every time they connect. You can keep this connection alive with a router or other keep alive device.

With my cable, my box sits right on the net but my box has a public IP address. so if I host the master server sees my public ip and i have no problem . For some reason your getting a private ip address which can not be seen from the outside world.

I would recommend you stopping my dslreports.com and asking someone with a dsl modem. They will be able to help you much faster then any of us non dsl modem members.

please, keep all info in this thread as PMs dont help others out.
