I cant understand why you would want to, but since you do.

You only need to change it like you said.

dm secondary startammo 3
realism secondary startammo 3

Just change the 3's to how many you want.

BTW are you sure you used the right directory info when you packed the .tik back into a PK3. ( models\weapons\ )
You'll also need to make sure your new pk3 is loaded after the stock one.
The pk3 are load in alphabetical order.
